STANFORD
-- Every year, the Olympia Ministerial Alliance awards
scholarships to area seniors at graduation. This year, the group
awarded two scholarships: $750 each to Hannah Bauersfeld and Shelby
Crump.

Hannah is the daughter of Rick and Jennifer Bauersfeld of McLean.
Hannah will attend Hope College in the fall to study elementary
education or nursing.
Shelby is the daughter of Jeff and Amy Crump of Armington. Shelby will pursue her higher education at Heartland
Community College and will study biology.
The scholarship winners received their awards at the Olympia baccalaureate
service Friday evening.
The scholarship is named the Scott Ewing Memorial Senior
Scholarship in honor of Scott Ewing, a youth minister from Minier
who invested great time and concern in area young people. He was
tragically killed in an automobile accident in December of 2004. The
scholarship seeks to honor graduating seniors from Olympia High
School who exemplify their Christian life and character at school,
their church, within their community and with their life goals.

The Olympia Ministerial Alliance congratulates the recipients on
their lives and achievement. It is the hope and intent of the
alliance that the scholarship awards will be an encouragement to
these young people as they pursue their future plans. The
scholarship committee was fortunate to have many fine applicants to
review.
This scholarship is funded by donations from churches,
church-related groups and individuals in the Olympia area. Without
their help, this scholarship would not be possible.
Anyone interested in donating to the scholarship fund may send
their contribution to the Scott Ewing Scholarship Fund, c/o Pastor
Kurt Walker, Hopedale Mennonite Church, 5192 Hopedale Road,
Hopedale, IL 61747. For more information, call 217-648-2464.
