Russell C. Melroy, 80, of Lincoln, died Saturday, May 19, 2012, at
7:50 a.m. at Decatur Memorial Hospital, Decatur.

Lincoln- Russell C. Melroy, 80, of Lincoln passed
away on Saturday, May 19, 2012 at 7:50 a.m. Decatur
Memorial Hospital.
Funeral Services for Mr. Melroy will be held on
Friday, May 25. 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at the Peasley
Funeral Home in Lincoln.
Visitation will be held for one hour prior to the
service at the funeral home.
Burial will be in Zion Cemetery in Lincoln.
Russell Charles Melroy was born on September 24,
1931 in Des Moines, Iowa the son of Charles and
Alice Melroy. He married Elaine Shoots on November
8, 1962. She preceded him in death on September 21,
1995.
Surviving Mr. Melroy are his children: Ricky L.
Melroy of Hillsboro, Roxanna (Charles) Henderson and
Dianna (Randy) Whitman all of Lincoln. one sister:
Marie Layman of Killeen, Tx. Also surviving are
several grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two sons, and two
brothers.

Mr. Melroy served as a paratrooper in the United
States Army during the Korean Conflict.
He retired from the GM & O railroad as a section
hand.
He was a member of the Lincoln Christian Church.
