Tim Stuckey, who coaches for the Lincoln Futbol Club, talked about how the fields came to be. He said that when the city and the Futbol Club reached an agreement on leasing the property, there was a great deal of work to be done.

He said at first it was almost a one-man operation as Dru Hauter came out and worked the ground and got it all seeded. But, Stuckey said it didn't stay that way, because the parents of the Lincoln team members are 100 percent behind the club and all give their time to the project now.

Parents are involved with upkeep of the grounds, such as mowing; they work to get nets up in goals each year; and they pitch in to run small concessions at each field.
