1. EGYPT HOLDS ITS FIRST FREE PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION

The voting that began at 2 a.m. is the greatest prize won in last year's Arab Spring uprising that toppled Hosni Mubarak. Egyptians are choosing among 13 candidates representing both secular and Islamist paths.

2. FINANCIAL REGULATORS PROBING FACEBOOK IPO

They want to find out whether the bank that handled the sale, Morgan Stanley, selectively informed clients of an analyst's negative report on the company before the stock started trading. Facebook stock has since dropped 18 percent.

3. EUROPE SEEKS SOLUTIONS TO ITS FINANCIAL CRISIS

At 1 p.m., leaders of the European Union nations meet in Brussels to find a way to keep the debt crisis from spiraling out of control. They are seeking ways to promote jobs and growth despite austerity budgets.

4. CONGRESS OPENS HEARINGS ON SECRET SERVICE PROSTITUTION SCANDAL

At 10:30 a.m., senators are expected to focus on whether the Secret Service permitted a culture in which such behavior was tolerated.

5. IRAN NUCLEAR TALKS START

U.S. and European powers hope to strike a deal that will keep Iran from enriching uranium to the level capable of producing nuclear weapons.

6. ROMNEY INCHES CLOSER TO GOP NOMINATION

Primary wins in Arkansas and Kentucky put Romney just 79 delegates shy of the number needed to win the nomination. He can seal it with a victory in Texas next week.

7. OBAMA TO SPEAK AT AIR FORCE ACADEMY

The president's noon commencement address in Colorado Springs will be followed by campaign events in Denver and Silicon Valley.

8. SENTENCING FOR WOMAN WHO FAKED CANCER TO PAY FOR HER WEDDING

At 9:30 a.m., a New York judge could force Jessica Vega to repay the $13,000 in donations she used for her wedding and Caribbean honeymoon.
