Illinois country grain prices were
sharply lower on Tuesday afternoon.
Fund selling at the Board of Trade
drove prices lower. Also helping to weaken prices was the above
average planting pace by US farmers.
According to the USDA's Weekly
Crop Progress Report, US farmers have planted 96% of the US corn
crop and 76% of the soybean crop.
In Northern and Western Illinois country grain dealers quoted
shelled corn bids 29 to 30 cents lower at 6.14-6.25.
Soybean bids traded 33 to 36 cents
lower at 13.49-13.65.
In Central Illinois country grain dealers quoted shelled corn
bids were 32 to 35 cents lower at 6.16-6.36.
Soybean bids were 28 to 30 cents
lower at 13.64-13.76.
In the Southern part of the state, shelled corn bids were 32 to
40 cents lower at 6.21-6.51.
Soybean bids were 30 to 36 cents
lower at 13.68-13.86.
Wheat bids were mostly 13 to 17
cents lower at 6.65-6.87.
