Zion Lutheran School held its eighth-grade graduation service on Thursday at Zion Lutheran Church in Lincoln. The Rev. Mark Thompson served as the lector. The Rev. David Ramirez delivered the message, based on the class Bible verse: "For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." (Jeremiah 29:11)

Class valedictorian Lizzie Ford and class salutatorian Lexie Groves both presented speeches.

Members of the graduating class were Anna Walters, Lexie Groves, Lizzie Ford, Rachel Lockenour, Drew Simmer, Rachel Podbelsek, Joe Ahrends, Ben Steiner, Garret Olson and Cylie Rekart.

Special award recipients were Lizzie Ford, valedictorian and Presidential Award for Academic Excellence; Lexie Groves, salutatorian, Presidential Award for Academic Excellence and DAR History Award; Joe Ahrends, Presidential Award for Academic Excellence; and Cylie Rekart, American Legion Award.

The class motto was: "If you can imagine it, you can achieve it. If you can dream it, you can become it." The class chose aqua and silver for their class colors.
