Last Thursday evening the joint was a-hopping at the American Legion Post 263 in Lincoln. The event was the second annual USO dance, hosted by the Healthy Communities Partnership Senior Issues Task Force.

The event was free to seniors and veterans, but folks of all ages were invited to attend as well for a small admission fee.

The evening included music by the Jim Markum Swing Band and an age-old tradition of doughnuts provided by the Salvation Army.  Having doughnuts comes from the World War era, when the "doughnut girls" made fresh sweets for the troops.

The evening was filled with great music, some pretty good "moves" and a lot of fun.
