This weekend the staff of Lincoln Daily News will take a long weekend to enjoy the Thanksgiving holiday with family and friends.

If breaking news occurs, we will be here to bring it to you as it becomes available.

We want to take a moment to express our great appreciation to all our readers for their continued patronage, and especially to our advertisers who make it possible for us to daily do what we love to do.

Thank you, and have a safe and happy holiday.

"What should I do today?" Through the holiday season there are a lot of activities going on. Make a list, plan your shopping, eat out to avoid cooking, and save gas and time by taking advantage of all the things you can find locally...

Wednesday

  • Don't forget to haul those leaves you raked yesterday to the curb before you head off for work.

Chilly weather is coming and so is dry skin! Stop by LOGAN COUNTY HARDWARE and get your Zum Bars. Made of goat milk, they make your skin soft and smooth even in harsh weather,

Thursday

  • Enjoy the day with family and friends.

  • Take a nap so you're well rested for BLACK FRIDAY.

  • Invite family and friends to go shopping with you in LINCOLN on SMALL BUSINESS SATURDAY.

Great things to do this weekend

Friday

Is the new Wii U on someone's wish list this year? Wal-Mart has them in stock NOW. No need to leave town to find that great new game!

Saturday

Is there a hunter in the house? Deer season is upon us, and it might turn cold any day now.  Buy your hunter an early Christmas present at ALEXANDER LUMBER. They now have in stock Milwaukee Heated Coats!
