With the promise of fabulous fall weather this
weekend, Gail and David Sasse and helpers will welcome folks
for a little country experience with great fall treats and
decorating items to purchase. The pumpkin patch offers
pumpkins and gourds, squash, corn, and other fall decorating items.
There are also apples, local honey, jellies and jams, apple butter,
and more favorite tastes of fall.
Gail's Pumpkin Patch offers an educational and fun farm experience
anytime for the entire family.
On Sunday from 1 to 4 p.m., the pumpkin patch is offering "Paint the
Patch Pink." The program is
co-sponsored by the Logan County Department of Public Health,
Illinois Breast and Cervical Cancer
Program to increase breast cancer awareness.
Activities include:
--Breast cancer education and information.
--Special pumpkin carving display by Renee
Hubal.
--Pumpkin painting and stamping.
--A display of pink and white pumpkins in
the shape of a breast cancer ribbon.
--Silent auction with partial proceeds going
to the Pink Pumpkin Patch Foundation. Funds from the foundation
go to reputable organizations with the highest percentage of
dollars spent on research. For more information, visit

--Special appearance of "Miss Pink," a 1970
Dodge Challenger built in 2006 as a tribute for Illinois State
Police Sgt. Sue Voges, who had breast cancer.
