When teams hit the greens, they
had glow sticks marking the pathway from hole to hole. As the
participants
drove their carts around the greens, the most important warning they
got was not to drive into the ponds.
Once they arrived at their holes, their
golf balls actually lit up so they could at least see them on the
tees. However, there were no lights on their clubs, and for
some that proved to be the real challenge. As some swung at
the ball, their perception of where the club would strike the ball
was distorted. Some hit the mark the first time; others had to
swing a time or two before they actually connected.
At the end of the night, prizes were awarded
for the best team score and the second best. The first team
was gifted an 18-hole pass and half off the cart rental, courtesy of
North Greens Golf Course. Second place received a nine-hole pass and
half off the cart. The
longest drive winner was given a North Greens Golf shirt. The
best putt won Nike golf balls. The competition for closest to the
pin held a prize of a golf cap or visor.

Second-place team: Lincoln/Pulaski Team -- Dale Meier, Dan Bock, Jim
Fuhrer and Deb Fuhrer
Longest drive: Mollie Burkhart
Longest putt: Eric Graue
Closest to pin: Vic Martinek
