			Harris Prescot Mikelson, 88, died Saturday, Sept. 22, 2012, at 
			Copper Creek Inn Memory Care Community in Chandler, Ariz. He and his 
			wife, Patricia, lived in Lincoln, Ill., for 30 years. (The obituary below was provided by the funeral 
							home.)   ___ 
							Harris Prescot Mikelson passed away on September 22, 
							2012 at the age of 88 at Copper Creek Inn Memory 
							Care Community in Chandler, AZ. 
							Harris was born on September 15, 1924 in Clarkfield, 
							MN to Emil and Annette Mikelson. 
							Harris enlisted in the Army Air Corps at the age of 
							17 in 1942. Harris flew in 72 missions as a 
							Bombardier and Tail-gunner in a B-26 Marauder with 
							the 442nd Squadron in Italy and France during WWII. 
							Harris worked a variety of Jobs in the agricultural 
							field. He finished his career in 1984 working for 
							Kalium Chemicals as a Sales Representative, residing 
							in the mid-west where he and his wife, Patricia 
							lived in Lincoln, IL for 30 years. 
							Harris and Patricia were married on September 17, 
							1948 in Sioux Falls, SD and just celebrated their 
							64th wedding anniversary. 
							He is survived by his wife, Patricia [Dravland] 
							Mikelson, Mesa, AZ, five children, Thomas (Jane) 
							Mikelson, Hartsburg, IL, Douglas (Lois) Mikelson, 
							Fall River, WI, Jack (Cathy) Mikelson, Chandler, AZ, 
							Mary Pat (Rod) Polley, Bloomington, IL and Janeann 
							(Rick) Jones, Queen Creek, AZ, 14 grandchildren, six 
							great-grandchildren, one sister, Ruth (Harry) 
							Ziemann, Hudson, WI and sister-in-law, Lorinne 
							Mikelson, Eden Prairie, MN. 
							Harris is preceded in death by his parents, sisters 
							Lucille, Murial, Evelyn, Dorothy and brother, 
							Richard. 
							He was a member of the Elks and American Legion of 
							Lincoln, IL. He was a devoted member of the Lutheran 
							Church. He loved the Minnesota Vikings, golf, 
							playing cards and telling stories to his 
							grandchildren. HP never met a stranger and always 
							had a smile on his face. Most of all, HP loved his

							A celebration of his life will be held on Wednesday, 
							September 26, 2012 at 2:00 pm at Our Savior Lutheran 
							Church, 612 S. Ellsworth Rd, Mesa, AZ. In lieu of 
							flowers, memorials may be made to Sunrise Health and 
							Hospice or Copper Creek Inn Memory Care Community. 
							Final interment will be at Camp Butler National 
							Cemetery in Springfield, IL.
