ATLANTA -- Joe E. Zakrzewski, 75, of
Atlanta died Friday, Oct. 5, 2012, at at 11:15 p.m. at the Meadows
Mennonite Home in Chenoa.

Atlanta: Joe E. Zakrzewski, 75, of Atlanta died at
11:15 P.M. Friday October 5, 2012 in Chenoa, IL at
the Meadows Mennonite Home.
Joe was born on August 25, 1937 in Chestnut, IL to
Jake and Pearl Reynolds Zakrzewski. He married Jane
Logsdon on June 6, 1964 in Belvidere, WI. She
preceded him in death on April 19, 2000. He was also
preceded in death by his parents.
Surviving are two daughters, Penny (Lonnie) King of
Atlanta, IL and Tara (Mardee) Van Hoorn of McLean,
IL, two granddaughters Tania Layne Van Hoorn of
McLean, IL and Erica Nicole King of Atlanta, IL and
one brother, Glenn (Wanda) Zakrzewski of Elk Grove,
CA.

He retired from Caterpillar in East Peoria as well
as farmed in Atlanta and surrounding areas. He was a
member of the Lincoln Eagles Lodge #2708 and served
in the United States Army from 1960-1962. He was an
outdoorsman that loved to feed the birds and
squirrels, loved trees, camping, collecting marbles,
coins and especially loved attending his
granddaughters sporting events.
Services will be at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday October 9,
2012 at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in
Lincoln. Visitation will be from 9:30-11:00
prior to services at the funeral home. Burial will
be in Atlanta Cemetery where full military rites
will be accorded. Memorials may be made to the
Atlanta Fire Department or to the Atlanta EMS.
