LINCOLN -- Frances K. Yeates, 96, of
Lincoln, died Wednesday, Sept. 5, 2102, at 10:10 p.m. at her home.

I want to be thoroughly used up when I die. Life
is no brief candle to me, it is sort of a splendid
torch. I want to make it burn as brightly as I can.

LINCOLN-Frances K. Yeates, 96, of Lincoln passed
away at 10:10 p.m. on September 5, 2012 at her home
with family by her side.
Frances was born on January 2, 1916 in Albion, IL.
She lived most of her adult life in Lincoln, IL. In
1935 she married John H. Yeates.
She retired from Lincoln Developmental Center, where
she was the medical secretary for the lab and x-ray
department. Frances was a long-time member of
Lincoln Christian Church. She was an accomplished
seamstress who enjoyed making dolls, traveling,
crossword puzzles, reading and gardening.

She is survived by four daughters: Mary "Mimi"
Nelson and husband Stanley of Daphne, AL; Lindsay
Hughes and husband Gary of Lincoln; Christine Parn
and husband Gary of Lincoln; Kathleen Dare and
husband George of Morris, IL; seven grandchildren:
John (Lea) Hughes; Amy (Jeff) Hyde; Lori (Joe) Cody;
David Parn and Michelle, Bryan and Shane Dare; and
five great grandchildren. We have all been blessed
by our selfless, loving and devoted Mother.
She was preceded in death by her husband, twin sons,
her parents, two sisters, and one brother.
Private family viewing will be held at
Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home, Lincoln.
Graveside services will be held on Tuesday,
September 11, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at New Union
Cemetery, Lincoln with Marge Iden officiating.
Memorials may be given to Lincoln Christian Church
Harvest of Talents.
