Illinois grain prices in country elevators

[September 19, 2012]  SPRINGFIELD -- This is Tuesday's report of the grain prices and trends, prepared by the USDA and the Illinois Department of Agriculture.

Illinois country grain prices were lower on Tuesday afternoon.

Speculative and fund selling at the Board of Trade again helped to push grain prices lower.

In the USDA's Weekly Crop Progress report, the Illinois corn harvest was estimated
to be 36% complete statewide, compared to 21% last week.

The Illinois soybean harvest was 3% complete, compared to 1% one week ago.

In Northern and Western Illinois country grain dealers quoted shelled corn bids mostly 10 to 13 cents lower at 7.10-7.25.

Soybean bids were 24 to 29 cents lower
at 16.10-16.20.

In Central Illinois country grain dealers quoted shelled corn bids were 8 cents
lower at 7.39-7.54.

Soybean bids were mostly 24 to 30 cents lower at 16.15-16.40.

In the Southern part of the state, shelled corn bids were mostly 7 to 11 cents
lower at 7.32-7.57.

Soybean bids were 30 cents lower at 16.13-16.30.

Wheat bids were 12 to 15 cents lower at 8.30-8.52.
