ATLANTA -- James A. Davis, 53, of
Atlanta, died Thursday, Sept. 20, 2012, at 6:10 p.m. near Washington, Ill.

Atlanta -- James A. "Beamer" Davis, 53, of Atlanta,
formerly of Armington, passed away on Thursday,
September 20, 2012 at 6:10 p.m. near Washington,
Ill.
Funeral Services for Mr. Davis will be held on
Tuesday, September 25, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at the
Atlanta Christian Church.
Visitation will be held from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00
p.m. on Monday, September 24, 2012 at the Atlanta
Christian Church.
Burial will be at a later date in the Atlanta
Cemetery.
James Andrew Davis was born on January 2, 1959, in
Bloomington, the son of Andrew Wesley and Margaret
Hildebrandt Davis. He married Tina Ditchen on May
26, 1985. She preceded him in death. He later
married Debbie Twyman on February 23, 2006. She
survives.
Also surviving are his mother: Margaret Davis of
Atlanta, his children: Jamie Michelle Davis of
Bloomington, Nicole Marie Davis of Normal, Alyssa
(Josh) Smith of Cincinnati, Oh., Ashley (Joe) Davis
of Lincoln, Grandchildren: Aydon James Davis, Rilen
Kisner, Aubree Auth, AShton Auth, Ethan Smith,
Addison Davis, Cooper Smith. His siblings: Marty
Davis, Dee Ann (Butch) Demling, Mary Davis Crismon,
Barb (Jack) Powell, Linda davis, Wesley (Bobbie)
Davis, Honeah (Tom) Rush. Many nieces and nephews
who loved him very much.

He was preceded in death by his father, one sister:
Pam Womack, one nephew: Troy Powell, paternal and
maternal grandparents.
He worked out of the Union Labor Hall. He worked for
Cullinan for 23 years and most recently for Stark
Excavation.
His hobbies included being a die-hard St. Louis
Cardinals and Dallas Cowboys fan, computer
games, listening to old music that he grew up with,
cooking and eating.
He was a devoted husband, loving father and
grandfather, true friend and an amazing person with
the kindest most gentle heart there ever was. There
will be a huge void in our hearts for all that knew
him. His nickname was "Beamer" because he always had
a smile on his face.
Memorials may be made to the Susan G. Komen
Foundation.
Final arrangements are entrusted with Quiram-Peasley
Funeral Home.
