DECATUR -- Wendy L. Strocher, 49, of
Decatur, died Friday, Sept. 21, 2012, at 10:42 p.m. at St. Mary's
Hospital in Decatur. (Below is a copy of
the obituary from the funeral home.)

Decatur: Wendy L. Strocher, 49, of Decatur died at
10:42 P.M. Friday September 21, 2012 at St. Mary's
Hospital in Decatur.
Wendy was born July 22, 1963 in Lincoln, IL to
Arthur G. Wilmert and Jeanette L. Wolf Johnson. She
married Steven E. Strocher on June 5, 1985 in
Lincoln. He preceded her in death on February 21,
2005.
Surviving Wendy is her daughter Alyssa (Derek)
Ballard and their two children Madeliene and James
of Decatur; father Arthur Wilmert of Decatur, mother
Jeanette L. (Rev. John) Johnson of Lincoln, one
sister Lori (Troy) Fishel of Lincoln, step-sister
Rebecca Johnson of Decatur, two step-brothers,
Christopher (Sara) Johnson of Lovington, IL and Lt.
Col Stephan (Kelly) Johnson of Altus Air Force Base,
Altus, OK.

Wendy was an oncology nurse at St. Mary's Hospital
in Decatur. She was a member of Pilgrim Lutheran
Church in Decatur but was confirmed and grew up in
Lincoln and former member of the Lincoln Zion
Lutheran Church. She was also an avid Cardinal fan.
Services will be at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday September
26, 2012 at the Zion Lutheran Church in Lincoln with
Rev. Mark Thompson officiating. Visitation will be
Tuesday evening from 4:00-6:00 at
Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln.
Burial will be at Zion Cemetery, Lincoln. Memorials
may be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Foundation or
to the Strocher family.
