Walter Richard Woolard, 91, of Lincoln, died Thursday, Sept. 20,
2012, at 6:01 p.m. at The Christian Village Nursing Home.

Lincoln- Walter Richard Woolard, 91, of Lincoln
passed away on Thursday, September 20, 2012 at 6:01
p.m. at The Christian Village Nursing Home in
Lincoln.
A Memorial Service will be held at a later date.
Cremation Rites have been accorded.
Walter Woolard was born on October 26, 1920 in Terre
Haute, Indiana, the son of Walter Otto and Jessie
Utt Woolard. He married Mable Cruse on May 29, 1941.
She preceded him in death in 1994.
He is survived by his two sons: Walter Richard
(Julie) Woolard, Jr. of Greenfield, Ind., Larry
(Elaine) Woolard of Lincoln; two grandchildren:
Rachel (Tim) Marten, and Tim (Janell) Woolard; four
great grandchildren: Dustin and Allison Woolard,
Kelsey and Kyle Marten. One sister also survives,
Marge Scheive of Crown Point, Ind.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Tom
Woolard.
Mr. Woolard graduated from Hammond High School in Hammond, Ind. He
served in the United States Navy during WW II aboard the USS Winooski.
He retired from Neal Vending Company of Hammond, Ind. He was a member of
the Jefferson Street Christian Church, where he volunteered his
problem-solving and repair skills in caring for the facilities.
