Virginia "Carol" Vogel, 71, of Lincoln, went to be with the Lord at 10:45 PM on September 25, 2012 at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield, IL.

Visitation will be from 4-6 PM Sunday, September 30, 2012 at Holland Barry & Bennett Funeral Home in Lincoln, IL. Funeral services will be at 10:00 AM Monday, October 1, 2012 at Lincoln Christian Church with visitation from 9:00 AM until the time of the service. Burial will follow in New Union Cemetery, Lincoln, IL.

Carol was born July 3, 1941 in Danville, IL., the daughter of Sidney and Bertha (Kerr) Arnett. She married Benjamin Vogel on June 4, 1961 in Catlin, IL. They celebrated 51 loving years of marriage together.

Surviving are her husband Benjamin "Ben" of Lincoln, IL. and her daughter Kristine "Kris" (Nathan) Dolbeare of Golden, CO.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her son Kenneth Vogel.

Carol was a member of Lincoln Christian Church for over 50 years. She spent 23 of those years in the toddler program at the church. She was a member of the Encourager's Sunday School Class. She was a member of the TOPS club of Lincoln and was an active volunteer for the Pregnancy Resource Center for 10 years. Carol proudly raised more than $5,000 annually for the Walk For Life. She was employed as a nurse for Christian Homes for 25 years. She worked along side her husband with the Lincoln Area Tape Ministry for 40 years.

Memorial donations may be made to the Pregnancy Resource Center in Lincoln, IL. and will be accepted at the funeral home.
