Thursday night, Melrose Park in Lincoln was the setting for a second annual community night in Lincoln.

Throughout the evening there was a large crowd.

The city fire, police, and street and alley departments had vehicles at the park. The kids both young and old had a great time exploring the vehicles. During one part of the evening, the various department staff held what might be called a rather loud competition, as for a while sirens and horns were sounding from every vehicle.

The event hosted by the city of Lincoln was well attended by city officials as Mayor Keith Snyder, Alderwomen Melody Anderson, Marty Neitzel and Jonie Tibbs were all on hand. Also there from the city were fire Chief Mark Miller and members of the department, police Chief Ken Greenslate and members of his department, street and alley department superintendent Tracy Jackson, and Kathy Vinyard.
