Clarence F. "Fred" Benedict, 91, of Lincoln, died Friday,
March 29, 2013, at Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital.

Lincoln- Clarence F. "Fred" Benedict, 91, of Lincoln
passed away on Friday, March 29, 2013 at Abraham
Lincoln Memorial Hospital in Lincoln.
Funeral Services for Mr. Benedict will be held on
Wednesday, April 3, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at the
Peasley Funeral Home in Lincoln.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday evening from 5:00
p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Burial will be in New Union Cemetery in Lincoln.
Military Rites will be accorded by American Legion
Post #263 of Lincoln.
Clarence Frederick Benedict was born on September
19, 1921 in McLean the son of James Adam and Mary
Ellen Wilson Benedict. He married Ada Mae Kinney. He
later married Alzada Davenport on June 6, 1970. She
preceded him in death.
Fred is survived by three sons: Gene Benedict of
Wheeling, Dean Benedict of California, Robert
(Dorothy) Benedict of Lincoln, one daughter: Theresa
(Charles) Funk of McLean. Three step sons: Darrell
(Pat) Robertson of Mason City, Johnny Robertson of
Santa Fe, N.M., Kenny (Alice) Robertson of Lincoln,
two stepdaughters: Hazel Root of Lincoln, Marjorie
Gardner of Bradenton, Fl., two sisters: Nora Emmons
and Alice Comstock both of Lincoln. Several
Grandchildren and Several Great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one son: Carl Benedict,
four sisters, nine brothers, one step daughter and one step son.
Fred served in the U.S. Navy during WWII with the rank of Seaman 1st
Class. He then worked as a Journeyman Union Carpenter for 44 years
retiring in 1985.
He was of the Christian faith. He was a member of American Legion Post #263 and Carpenter Union #568.
