Lucille R. Wendell, 101, of Lincoln, died Friday, April 5, 2013, at
9:20 p.m. at the Christian Nursing Home.

Lincoln, IL: Lucille R. Wendell, 101, of Lincoln
passed away at 9:20 P.M. Friday April 5, 2013 at the
Christian Nursing Home in Lincoln.
Lucille was born on December 24, 1911 at the family
home in New Holland, IL to Louis and Emma Halstead
Duginger. She married George William Wendell on June
26, 1930 in New Holland, IL. He preceded her in
death on April 20, 1987.
Surviving are two daughters, Joy (Jim) Smoots of
Wilmington, NC and Kaye (Fred) Troppe of Akron, OH,
three grandchildren, Anthony (Jill) Troppe of Akron,
OH, Nathan (Laura) Smoots of Wilmington, NC, Colin
Smoots of Leland, NC and two great grandchildren,
Michael and Gabe Troppe. She was preceded in death
by her parents, husband and brother Glen Duginger.

Lucille was a member of the Lincoln Christian
Church, and in addition to being a homemaker, she
was the manager of Playhouse Dare Care Center. She
was also a member of the New Holland Women's Club.
Services will be at 10:30 A.M. Saturday April 13,
2013 at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in
Lincoln with Ryan Edgecombe officiating.
Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the
funeral home. Burial will be at Richmond Grove
Cemetery in New Holland. Memorials may be made to
Lincoln Christian Nursing Home.
