Illinois country grain prices were
higher on Tuesday afternoon.
Stronger outside markets, lower
energy values, and weather forecasts that point to slow planting
progress combined to drive prices higher.
Planting progress was reported at
2% complete, well below expectations and the
normal progress of 7% complete.
In Northern and Western Illinois country grain dealers quoted
shelled corn bids were 15 to 17 cents higher at 6.65-6.73.
Soybean bids were 14 to 18 cents
higher at 14.17-14.35.
In Central Illinois country grain dealers quoted shelled corn
bids were 9 to 16 cents higher at 6.64-6.78.
Soybean bids were 15 to 20 cents
higher at 14.28-14.45.
In the Southern part of the state, shelled corn bids were mostly
10 to 17 cents higher at 6.44-6.88.
Soybean bids were mostly 14 to 17
cents higher at 14.31-14.44.
