Red Wing Police Chief Roger Pohlman says the body tumbled out of a sheet at Crothall Laundry Tuesday. Pohlman says laundry employees called the St. Paul hospital that owns the linens and that someone from the hospital came to retrieve the body.
The chief said Wednesday that his investigators interviewed laundry employees but didn't see the body. Pohlman says he doesn't know the gender, age or identity of the baby.
Authorities say the linens had been delivered to the laundry service within 48 hours of the body's discovery. Officials haven't named the hospital.
St. Paul Police Sgt. Paul Paulos says his agency is working with Red Wing police on the case.
