Illinois country grain prices were
sharply higher on Monday afternoon.
A wetter extended weather forecast
fueled today's rally in the grain market.
Last week's weather forecast
looked to give farmers a chance to begin corn planting, but
Monday's revision in the forecast will further push back
planting progress for the cornbelt.
In Northern and Western Illinois country grain dealers quoted
shelled corn bids were up 39 to 43 cents at 6.79-6.95.
Soybean bids were 34 to 38 cents
higher at 14.65-14.86.
In Central Illinois country grain dealers quoted shelled corn
bids were 36 to 39
cents stronger at 6.78-6.92.
Soybean bids advanced 30 to 38
cents to 14.81-14.99.
In the Southern part of the state, shelled corn bids were up 30
to 40 cents at
6.59-7.04.
Soybean bids gained 32 to 43 cents
at 14.83-15.10.
Wheat bids were 17
to 24 cents higher at 7.00-7.25.
