Evelyn I. Newton, 77, of Lincoln, died Sunday, July 28, 2013, at
9:46 p.m. at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield.

LINCOLN-Evelyn I. Newton, 77, of Lincoln, passed
away at 9:46 p.m. Sunday, July 28, 2013 at Memorial
Medical Center, Springfield, IL.
Evelyn was born April 29, 1936 in rural New Holland,
IL the daughter of John and Irma Kaiser Harnacke.
She married Raymond Newton February 21, 1969 in
Lincoln, IL. He preceded her in death November 2,
2003.

Evelyn is survived by three children: Teresa Newton-Fraher
of Lincoln; Tony (Cheryl) Newton of Keithsburg, IL;
Bridgette (Jeremy) Boatner of Akron, AL; one
brother: John Harnacke of Lincoln; brother-in-law:
Robert Newton of Lincoln; and five grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband
and step-mother, Martha Harnacke.
She was a homemaker and member of Zion Lutheran
Church of Lincoln; she loved to bake and gardening.
She was a devoted wife, mother, and friend.
Services for Evelyn will be Thursday, August 1 at
11:00 a.m. at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral
Home, Lincoln with Rev. Mark Thompson
officiating. Visitation will be two hours
(9:00-11:00 a.m.) prior to service at the funeral
home. Burial will be in Zion Cemetery, Lincoln.
Memorials in her memory may be given to Zion
Lutheran Church of Lincoln.
