Cake Classic brings in over $4,000 for the 4-H Foundation

The Logan County Fair Cake Classic Auction continues to hold great interest and support for the 4-H. On Sunday afternoon eight cakes auctioned off for $4,050. The funds go to the 4-H Foundation to continue support of programs.

2011 Queen Kelsi Ubbenga returned for her second time, having just learned to bake and entering her first cake last year.

Congratulations to each and every baker.

The cakes in order of judge's opinion, their maker, buyer and amount:

1. Spice, made by Carlene Carter, purchased by Cullers Fries for $700.
2. Chocolate, made by Miriam Carter, purchased by Sivori Catering for $750.
3. Angel food, made by Rebekah Crider, purchased by Harold Goodman for $400.
4. Chocolate, made by Jacob Runyon, purchased by Kevin Ritchhart, Ritchhart's Petting Zoo and Larry Stanfield (with Lauren Stanfield standing in for the picture) for $325.
5. White butter cake, made by Kelsi Ubbenga, purchased by Kevin Ubbenga for $525.
6. German chocolate, made by Karen Sandel, purchased by Harold Goodman for $450.
7. Red velvet, made by Cameron Runyon, purchased by Dahmm Farms for $600.
8. Chiffon, made by Annie Dunbar, purchased by S&N Fireworks for $300.
