Much cooler weather was definitely appreciated this year as the
cakes were baked in the Lincoln Stage exhibit area. Baking began
about 2 p.m., and cakes were all cooled, frosted and waiting under
glass domes for judge Cindy Friedrich from Havana to begin her
testing at 5 p.m.
If you are wondering how a cake judge maintains a slim figure,
one of her other noted pastimes is running.
Last year, the 2011 Logan County Fair queen, Kelsi Ubbenga, had
just learned to bake and entered her spice cake. She returned this
year with a white butter cake recipe.
LDN congratulates each and every baker.
