[August 09, 2013]  NEW YORK (AP) --  Joy Behar (BAY'-hahr) makes her exit from "The View" on daytime television Friday.

Except for program inventor Barbara Walters, Behar is the last of the original hosts from when the show made its debut 16 years ago.

Behar punctuates her last show with a profane joke. Taped a week ago, the show is a salute with clips of her memorable moments, surprise guests and a final serenade.

The 70-year-old Behar is a standup comic and a writer. She says she wants to try different things without being tied to a daily show.

It's a time of transition at "The View," which now has a chance to seek a younger audience.
