ATLANTA -- Charles M. Smith, 61, of
Atlanta, died Monday, Aug. 5, 2013, at 10:26 p.m. at Memorial
Medical Center in Springfield.

Atlanta -- Charles M. Smith, 61, of Atlanta passed away
on Monday, August 5, 2013 at 10:26 p.m. at Memorial Medical
Center in Springfield.
Funeral Services for Mr. Smith will be held on Saturday,
August 10, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. at the Assembly of God Church
in Atlanta with Pastor John McVey officiating.
Visitation will be held on Friday evening from 5:00 p.m.
until 7:00 p.m. at the Quiram Peasley Funeral Home in
Atlanta.
Burial will be in the Atlanta Cemetery.
Charles Mitchell Smith was born on July 22, 1952 in
Lincoln, the son of Donna Charlene Smith. He married Gayla
Winchester on November 19, 1974 in Marion, Ill. She
survives.

Also surviving are his mother: Donna Charlene Fulk of
Lincoln, his children: Sonja (Bob) Perschall of Hartsburg,
Curtis (Maria) Smith of Waynesville, Keith (Alison) Smith
and Erica Smith, of Atlanta, eight grandchildren: Kaitlyn,
Sami, Clint, Jenny, Robby, Mollie, Jonny and Sophia; and his
siblings: Don (Linda) Sullivan, Ed (Jayne) Sullivan, Roger
Sullivan, Charlotte (John) Parcelle, Rocky (Evelyn) Smith,
Susie (Gary) Triplett and Brenda Sullivan.
He was preceded in death by one
daughter: Jennifer Smith and two brothers: Calvin Sullivan
and David Sullivan.
Charlie was employed by the City
of Atlanta as their Street Superintendent for thirty three
and half years.
