MARION -- Ronald Ray Booth, 77, died in
the early morning on Friday, Aug. 16, 2013, at his home in Marion.

Marion- Ronald Ray Booth, 77, passed away in the
early morning on Friday, August 16, 2013 at his home
in Marion IL.
Ronald was born on February 12, 1936 in Chicago, IL,
son of John Vivian and Alma Marie Crumpler Booth. He
was united in marriage to Barbara Holan on December
6, 1958 in Chicago. He is survived by his wife of
Marion, IL; his daughter Janice Marie Johnson of
Birch Tree MO; son Lawrence "Larry" (Kelly) Martin
of Middletown; grandchildren: Shereen (Craig)
Pettit, Dawnna Nicole (Nathan) Patterson, and
Alexander Michael (Lindsay) Booth; and great
grandson Jonathon Pettit. He was preceded in death
by his parents and his brothers: James Dennis and
John Samuel Booth.

Ronald was a graduate of Lincoln High School. He
taught high school sciences; employed by the
Illinois Association of School Boards for a number
of years; on the school board of Glendale Heights;
and worked the last 30 years as a labor negotiator
for the school districts of Illinois. Ronald was an
avid sports fan and he was a lover of all kinds of
animals.
Graveside services for Ronald will be held at 10:00
A.M. on Wednesday, August 21, 2013 at Richmond Grove
Cemetery in New Holland. A visitation will be held
from 4-7:00 P.M. on Tuesday, August 20 at
Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the
American Heart Association or to the Humane Society
of Logan County.
