Thursday evening, Symphony of Lincoln hosted their 15th annual Balloon Festival Kick-off Party in the parking lot of the nursing facility on the north end of town. Symphony is located just feet from the Logan County Airport, so as guests enjoyed a meal courtesy of Symphony, they got a chance to see the media night balloons inflating and flying.

Symphony staff helped with serving food, which consisted of barbecue sandwiches, green beans, coleslaw, chips and a selection  of cookies.

Several chose to eat inside at the guest dining area, but many more made their way outside to the large tent where the local band Rusted Guns was playing a variety of music from good old rock 'n' roll, to country and western.

The Guns is  normally made up of  Bill Treakle, Terry Miller, Jeff Letterle and Rick Letterle. On Thursday, Bill Treakle Jr. was standing in at the guitar for Terry Miller.

While some enjoyed their meal at tables provided under the tent, others brought their lawn chairs and lined the fence on the north side of the parking lot.

The kids had a great time with their snow cones and cotton candy, and new this year, Symphony was giving away Frisbees, which everyone seemed to enjoy and appreciate.
