Donald L. Werkman, 84, of Lincoln, died Thursday, Aug. 22, 2013, at
5:25 a.m. at St. Clara's Manor.

LINCOLN-Donald L. Werkman, 84, of Lincoln, passed
away at 5:25 a.m. Thursday, August 22, 2013 at St.
Clara'ss Manor, Lincoln.
Don was born on February 25, 1929 in Beason, IL the
son of Enno and Rose Lenhardt Werkman. He married
Helen J. Bateman September 3, 1949 in Lincoln, IL.
Helen preceded him in death January 9, 2013.
Don is survived by one daughter: Jill Werkman of
Toluca, IL.

Don worked as a farmer and truck driver for B & J
Sales. He was a member of St. John United Church of
Christ of Lincoln and the American Legion Post #263
being very active providing Military Rites for other
Veterans. He served his country from 1954-1956 in
the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
Services for Don will be at 2:00 p.m. on Monday,
August 26, 2013 at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader
Funeral Home, Lincoln with Rev. Jan Johnson and
Rev. Wallace Reifsteck officiating. Visitation will
be from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. prior to the service at
the funeral home. Burial will be in Steenbergen
Cemetery, Mt. Pulaski, IL with full Military Rites
accorded by the American Legion Post #263. In lieu
of flowers, memorials may be given to American
Legion Post #263 Building Fund, Lincoln.
