Wednesday evening a group of residents and staff from St. Clara's Manor headed out to the ballgame. They were attending a CornBelters game at Corn Crib stadium in Normal. According to activity director Penny Tipton, the group trip was paid for with proceeds from a bake and yard sale on July 4. Their trip to Normal was made in the St. Clara's bus. Once they arrived, they were treated like VIPs, with reserved seats in an air -conditioned box section. Those who went on the trip are, seated left to right; Florence Williamson, Charlie Sloan, Dorothy O'Malley, Harryet Sullivan and Charles Nauts. Standing, left to right, are Rebecca Johnson, St. Clara activity aide; Alex Eads; Mike Eads; St. Clara's director; Betty Shartzer; Kevin Bruce of the St. Clara staff; and Penny Tipton, activity director.
