Aileen Westen, 92, of Lincoln, formerly of Emden, died Thursday,
Aug. 29, 2013, at The Christian Village.

Aileen Westen, 92, of Lincoln, formerly of Emden,
passed away Thursday, August 29, 2013 at The
Christian Village.
Visitation will be 10:00 AM on Saturday, August 31,
2013 at Hartsburg United Methodist Church. Funeral
services will beat 11:00 AM also on Saturday at the
church with Pastor Tami Werschey-Kessinger
officiating. Burial will follow in Hartsburg Union
Cemetery. Holland Barry & Bennett Funeral Home in
Lincoln is handling arrangements.
Aileen was born January 4, 1921 in Beason, IL., the
daughter of William and Pearl (Green) Cooper. She
married Leonard Westen on January 16, 1946 in Beason,
IL. He preceded her in death on June 2, 1996.

Aileen was a graduate of Beason High School. She and
her husband farmed in Emden for many years. She was
also employed at Caterpillar in Peoria in the parts
shipping department and was a clerk at Montgomery
Ward’s in Lincoln. She was a member of Hartsburg
Methodist Church and United Methodist Women, where
she held various offices. She taught Sunday School
for many years and was a member of the Hartsburg
Auxiliary.
Surviving are: her grandson H.E. Westen of Emden,
IL. and her daughter-in-law Nina (Wes) Huddlestun of
Lincoln, IL.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her
husband Leonard, her daughter Rita Lyn Westen, her
son Lyndon Westen, her brother Vernon Cooper, and
her sister Ila Westen.
Memorial donations may be made to The Christian
Village or to Hartsburg United Methodist Church.
