Mikkel Boedker also recorded a goal and two assists while captain
Shane Doan, Radim Vrbata and Davis Moss all added one of each for
the Coyotes, who have earned a point in 10 straight meetings with
Edmonton (8-0-2). Defenseman Keith Yandle also scored and Mike Smith
turned aside 31 shots to improve to 7-1-1 lifetime against the
			Oilers.
David Perron scored both goals for the Oilers, who fell to 5-3-0 in
their last eight. Devan Dubnyk made 27 saves in his first start
			since Nov. 25.
The Coyotes scored twice in a 58-second span in the second period to
snap a 1-1 deadlock, with Vrbata redirecting a crossing pass from
Ribeiro at 6:58. Doan was credited with his team-leading 12th goal
less than a minute later, when Ribeiro's soft wrist shot from the
point deflected off him and past Dubnyk, but Perron answered on the
power play at 19:08 by burying a feed from Ales Hemsky for his
			team-high 11th goal.

Ribeiro restored the two-goal cushion at 4:46 of
the final period, when he was left all alone in the slot and
ripped a shot past the glove of Dubnyk. The Coyotes turned it
into a rout when Yandle and Moss scored 42 seconds apart midway
				throught the session.
GAME NOTEBOOK: Moss had a goal waved off in the opening two
minutes of the third period, and a video review confirmed his
stick was above the crossbar when he batted the puck into the
net.... Dubnyk, who got the start due to an upper-body injury
that has sidelined Ilya Bryzgalov, fell to 0-3-2 lifetime at
home against Phoenix. ... Vrbata has three goals and three
assists during his five-game point streak. [SportsDirect Inc.] |
