Canadiens 4, Devils 3 (shootout) — David Desharnais scored the deciding goal in the second round of the shootout to carry the Montreal Canadiens to victory against the New Jersey Devils.

The shootout came after a wild third period that saw five goals, including two in the dying minutes.

Patrik Elias scored with 1:06 remaining to seemingly put the Devils into a winning 3-2 lead, but Desharnais forced overtime when he netted with 35.6 seconds remaining in regulation.

The Canadiens (17-9-3) completed a sweep in the home-and-home series after beating the Devils (11-12-6) by a score of 3-2 in Montreal on Monday.

The Canadiens are 7-0-1 in their past eight contests.

Flyers 6, Red Wings 3

Sean Couturier scored two goals and added two assists as the Philadelphia Flyers scored four goals in the third period to rally for a come-from-behind win over the Detroit Red Wings.Tomas Tatar scored twice for Detroit (14-8-7) who led 3-1 before the Flyers erupted for five straight goals.

Left winger Scott Hartnell and right winger Matt Read each had a goal and two assists and right winger Steve Downey and center Claude Giroux did likewise for Philadelphia (13-13-2).

Flyers goaltender Steve Mason stopped 32 shots.
