It is the third largest contract in major-league history and the
same as the one first baseman Albert Pujols signed with Los Angeles
Angels after the 2011 season.
The 31-year-old Cano is a career .309 hitter with 204 home runs and
822 RBIs in nine seasons with the New York Yankees. This past
season, Cano played in 160 games and batted .314 with 27 home runs
and 107 RBIs.
The Yankees' best offer to re-sign Cano was $175 million for seven
years.
___ The New York Mets reached a four-year, $60 million deal with
free-agent outfielder Curtis Granderson, according to multiple
reports.
After consecutive seasons with at least 40 home runs with the New
York Yankees, Granderson was limited to 60 games this year after
breaking a forearm during spring training and then a finger during
the season. He batted .229 with seven home runs and 15 RBIs.

The New York Yankees finalized a one-year deal with right-handed
Pitcher Hiroki Kuroda that will pay him $16 million with another
$500,000 available based on innings pitched, the New York Post
reported.
Kuroda, 38, went 11-13 with a 3.31 ERA, the lowest among the team's
starters. Before negotiating a new deal with the Yankees, Kuroda was
considering either retiring or returning to Japan.

The Houston Astros agreed to a three-year, $30 million contract with
right-hander Scott Feldman, according to multiple reports.
The deal is pending a physical.
Feldman, 30, went 12-12 with a 3.86 ERA in 181 2/3 innings this year
with the Chicago Cubs and Baltimore Orioles combined.

The Miami Marlins agreed to a two-year contract with free
agent first baseman Garrett Jones, the Miami Herald reported.
The deal is reportedly worth $7 million to $8 million.
Jones, 32, hit .233 with 15 home runs in 144 games for the
Pittsburgh Pirates this year.

The Baltimore Orioles agreed to a two-year, $4.5 million
contract with right-handed reliever Ryan Webb, CBS Sports
reported.
The deal is pending a physical.
Webb, 27, had a 2.91 ERA in 80 1/3 innings for the Miami Marlins
this year.

The Texas Rangers signed catcher J.P. Arencibia to a one-year
deal, the Dallas Morning News reported.
The Rangers had been offering Arencibia a contract worth about
$1 million, according to CBC Sports.
Arencibia, 27, was the Toronto Blue Jays starting catcher the
past three seasons. Arencibia hit just .194 for the Blue Jays in
2013, although he did hit 21 home runs in 138 games.

Outfielder Nate McLouth agreed to a two-year deal with the
Washington Nationals that will pay him $10.75 million, the
Baltimore Sun reported.
McLouth, 32, hit .258 with 12 homers and 30 stolen bases in 146
games for the Baltimore Orioles this past season.
