Sign-up for men's basketball is going on
now until Jan. 10 at the Lincoln Park District. Individual player
registration forms are available at the front office, and payment
can be made there also. Teams will be drafted on Tuesday, Jan. 14,
beginning at 6 p.m., at the administration office. Games are played
on Sunday afternoons at 1, starting on Jan. 26. Each team will play
10 regular-season games, and there will be a postseason tournament.

Player fees are $35. The league jersey is $20 and all players are
required to have one. Players who already have a jersey from a
previous park district basketball program will not have to purchase
another one. Daily fees will apply to players who don't have a
Sports Center membership. The park district is offering a special
$35 track-and-court membership that will cover daily fees for
basketball league participants. This membership will cover the
entire spring league schedule for both game and non-game days.
This is a perfect time of year to give someone the gift of fitness.
Gift certificates are available in any dollar amount. Park
district gift certificates can be used toward membership fees or any
park district program. There are no activation fees for a gift
certificate; every dollar spent on the purchase is applied directly
to the face value.

The park district will offer a couple of art classes
toward the end of January. One class will be designed for young
people and the other for adults. Local artist Jodi Phillips will be
the instructor. Both classes will feature make-and-take projects.
More information will be coming in future columns.
