[December 21, 2013]  LARAMIE, Wyo. — Southern Methodist 62, Wyoming 54: Markus Kennedy led the way off the bench with 15 points as the Mustangs slogged past the host Cowboys for their fifth straight victory.

Nic Mooore was the only other Mustang in double figures with 10, while Kennedy also added seven rebounds. SMU (10-2), which entered the game ranked third nationally in field-goal percentage defense, held an opponent under 60 points for the sixth time this season.

Larry Nance Jr. posted his second consecutive double-double, scoring 16 points and grabbing 13 rebounds for Wyoming (7-4), which shot 34.8 percent from the field.. Jerron Granberry added 12 for the Cowboys and was the only player in the contest to make more than one 3-pointer.

Five different players scored for SMU during an 11-2 game-ending run to grab the victory. Wyoming missed its final five field goal attempts after leading with less than five minutes to play.

The first half was an offensive abomination, with neither team over 35 percent from the field and Nance leading all scorers with a paltry seven points as the Cowboys took a 22-21 lead to the locker room. The Mustangs scored the first six after the break, but the Cowboys hung tough and led with as little as 4:20 on the clock when Josh Adams' layup made it 52-51.

GAME NOTEBOOK: This is SMU's second five-game winning streak of the Larry Brown era. … The Mustangs outrebounded the Cowboys 39-29 and have won the rebounding battle in all but one game this year. … Nance is averaging 27 points and 12.5 rebounds in his last two games.
