ATLANTA -- Viola I. Brandt, 92, of
Atlanta, died Thursday, Jan. 31, 2013, at 3:30 a.m. at the Hopedale
Nursing Home in Hopedale.

Atlanta – Viola I. Brandt, 92, of Atlanta, passed
away at the Hopedale Nursing Home in Hopedale on
Thursday, January 31, 2013, at 3:30 a.m.
Funeral Services for Mrs. Brandt will be held on
Sunday, February 3, 2013, at 2:00 p.m. at the
Atlanta Christian Church with Mr. Maurice Stribling
officiating.
Visitation for Viola will be held from 6:00 p.m.
until 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 2, 2013, at
Quiram-Peasley Funeral Home and for one hour at the
church prior to the funeral service.
Burial will be in the Atlanta Cemetery.
Viola Irene Lahr was born on April 20, 1920, in
Colome, South Dakota, the daughter of Harrison and
Ina Shields Lahr. She married Walter V. Brandt on
August 7, 1937, in rural McLean.
Surviving Viola are three children: Thomas (Darlene)
Brandt of Pekin; Larry (Barbara) Brandt of Oakdale,
Minn.; and Cindy Rosecrans of Normal; 10
grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and 7
great-great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Brandt was preceded in death by her husband,
Walter, and one daughter, Peggy Parks.
During her lifetime, Viola farmed with her husband
for many years. She enjoyed knitting and gardening.
Viola was a member of the Atlanta Christian Church
where she volunteered as a Sunday School teacher and
janitor for many years.
Memorials may be made to the Atlanta Christian
Church.
Final arrangements are entrusted with Quiram-Peasley
Funeral Home of Atlanta.
