Across the nation and around the world, many know him for his fight against slavery, his incredible Gettysburg Address and his tragic death. In Logan County, Abraham Lincoln was that and much more. As he was a friend to the founding fathers, the city of Lincoln was named for him when he was a lowly attorney riding the circuit through Logan County. Mount Pulaski and Postville were second homes to him as he represented local folk in upstairs courtrooms. Therefore, it seems only fitting that this community celebrate his birth date in style. While today is the day Abraham Lincoln would be 204 years old, this past weekend was a time for celebrating at both the Mount Pulaski Courthouse and the Postville Courthouse.
