MetLife said it earned $1.25 per share from operations if one-time items are excluded. FactSet says analyst expected $1.30 per share. Shares of MetLife lost 95 cents, or 2.5 percent, to $36.56 in afternoon trading. They are still near the high end of their 52-week range of $27.60 to $39.55.
