[February 22, 2013]  SPRINGFIELD -- Since Geoffrey Obrzut announced his plans to retire from the position of president and chief executive officer of the Illinois Community College Board, effective June 30, the board has begun a nationwide search for a new executive director.

The executive director reports directly to the board and serves as the chief community college system representative working with the governor's office, the Illinois General Assembly and its various legislative committees, the Illinois Board of Higher Education, and other state agencies.

Qualified applicants can find more information, including an online application form, on the ICCB's website: www.iccb.org. To ensure a full consideration, individuals should submit a complete application package prior to March 8.

Alexi Giannoulias, chairman of the ICCB, leads the search committee, which also includes six other board members.
