Joann M. Presswood, 77, of Lincoln, died Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2013, at
7:45 p.m. at St. Clara's Manor.

Lincoln-Joann M. Presswood, age 77, of Lincoln, IL
died at 7:45 P.M. on January 8, 2013 at St. Clara's
Manor, Lincoln, IL.
Joann was born on March 16, 1935 in Granite City,
IL, the daughter of Joseph Burnett and Essie Edwards
Humphreys. She was united in marriage to Ronald
Kenneth Stewart and he preceded her in death. She
was united in marriage to Billy L. Presswood on
October 14, 1972 in Carbondale, IL. and he preceded
her in death on September 8, 2010. Joann is survived
by two daughters, Billi- Jo (Michael) Berger of
Lincoln, IL and Jacqueline K. (Russell) Barringer of
Jacksonville, IL, one stepdaughter Jeannie Presswood
of California, 11 grandchildren and 1 great
grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents
and husbands; one stepson Errol Clyde Presswood.

Joann was a member of the First Baptist Church of
Carbondale, a member of Eastern Star for 58 years
and graduated from Southern Illinois University in
Carbondale with a Bachelors in Music Education in
1958, where she was a member of Mu Phi Epsilon Music
Sorority and Pi Lamda Theta Education Sorority.
Joann taught school in Southern Illinois for 4
years, worked for the Jackson County Treasurers
Office, and was an interpreter for Giant City State
Park working for the State of Illinois Department of
Revenue and Conservation.
Graveside services for Joann will be at 2:00 P.M.
Friday, January 11, 2013 at Zion Cemetery, Lincoln,
IL. Visitation will be from 11:00 A.M. until 1:30
P.M. on Friday prior to the graveside at
Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln, IL.
Memorials may be made to the Erik and Alisha Snyder
Fund in care of Billi-Jo Berger.
