MOUNT PULASKI -- Kenneth Kaesebier, 91,
of Mount Pulaski, died Sunday, Jan. 13, 2013, at 1:24 a.m. at
Memorial Medical Center in Springfield.

Mt. Pulaski: Kenneth Kaesebier, of Mt. Pulaski
passed away at 1:24a.m. Sunday morning at Memorial
Medical Center in Springfield.
Mr. Kaesebier was born November 25, 1921 in Emden,
IL to Adolph and Cassie Tholen Kaesebier. He married
Janette Detmers on June 22, 1948 in Emden. She
preceded him in death on January 19, 1997. He
enlisted in the United States Army in August of
1940, prior to WWII. He served in the Asiatic
Theater where he was awarded the Purple Heart, three
bronze stars, and the Philippine Liberation Ribbon
with one bronze star, and also served in the Korean
Conflict. He retired from active military service in
1965. He was an electronic technician at Sangamo
Electric in Springfield then owned and operated
Barnharts Restaurant with his wife for eight years.

Survivors include seven children Betty (Dan)
Phillips of Mt. Pulaski, Janet Skelton of Lincoln,
William Kaesebier of Springfield, David (Ruth Ann)
Kaesebier of Lincoln, Richard (Kathy) Kaesebier of
Elkhart, Susan (Joe) Ogden of Springfield and Karen
(Robert) Hartman of Mt. Pulaski, thirteen
grandchildren, Derek (Laura) Phillips, Darin (Amy)
Phillips, Shannon Skelton, Michelle Kaesebier, Wade
(Ashley) Kaesebier, Alisha (Thomas) Beck, Christina
(Brian) Schluep, Therese Kaesebier, Kaitlyn
Kaesebier, Christopher Hilscher, Natalie Notto,
Ashley Hartman and Tyler Hartman, as well as eleven
great grandchildren, Abbegail, Daniel and Delia
Phillips, Addilyne and Annabelle Phillips, Kamryn
and Kollin Kaesebier, Madison Beck, Carson and
Brooke Schluep and Landon Notto.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother
William, twin sister Kathryn, one infant daughter,
and two grandsons Jason Lee Kaesebier and Jeffrey
Scott Hilscher.
Services will be at 4:00 P.M. Thursday January 17,
2013 at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in
Mt. Pulaski with Pastor Steve Owens officiating.
Visitation will be from 5:00-8:00 p.m. Wednesday
evening at the funeral home. A private family burial
will be at Camp Butler National Cemetery at a later
date where full military rites will be accorded by
Camp Butler. Memorials may be made to St. Jude's
Children's Hospital or Lincoln Land Honor Flight.
