MOUNT PULASKI -- Jerry M. Sams, 78, of
Decatur, formerly of Mount Pulaski, died Tuesday, Jan. 15, 2013, at
3:30 p.m. at Vonderlieth Living Center.

Mt. Pulaski- Jerry M. Sams, 78, of Decatur, formerly
of Mt. Pulaski, died at 3:30 P.M. on Tuesday January
15, 2013 at Vonderlieth Living Center in Mt.
Pulaski.
Jerry was born on December 20, 1934 in Mt. Pulaski,
the son of Everett and Lucille Shull Sams. He was
united in marriage to Virginia "Jenny" Huffman on
March 10, 1956 in Elkhart. She survives in Decatur.
He is also survived by his daughter: Debbie (Jim)
Fuhrer of Mt. Pulaski; grandson: Todd (Tikeyla)
Fuhrer of Beason; great grandchildren: Lily, Grace,
Ellee, and James. He is preceded in death by his
parents, and his sister Wanda Patten.
Jerry was a farmer. He spent his time collecting
tractors, helping his grandson build things,
shopping for his grandchildren, and he loved
spending time with his family.

Services for Jerry will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Saturday,
January 19, 2013 at the St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church
in Mt. Pulaski with Rev. Jeffrey Liable conducting the
services. A visitation will be held from 4-7:00 P.M. on
Friday January 18 at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home
in Mt. Pulaski with a 3:45 Rosary Service. Burial will
follow the funeral service at Mt. Pulaski Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the St. Thomas Aquinas Church in
Mt. Pulaski or to the Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in
Decatur.
