ATLANTA -- Keith Pope, 99, of Atlanta,
died Wednesday, Jan. 16, 2013, at 5:05 a.m. at The Christian Village
in Lincoln.

Atlanta – Mr. Keith Pope, 99, of Atlanta, passed
away on Wednesday, January 16, 2013, at 5:05 a.m. at
Christian Village in Lincoln.
Funeral services for Mr. Pope will be held at 10:00
a.m. on Saturday, January 19, 2013, at the Atlanta
Christian Church. Mr. Maurice Stribling will
officiate.
Visitation will be held at Quiram-Peasley Funeral
Home from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Friday,
January 18, 2013.
Burial will be in Atlanta Cemetery.
Surviving Mr. Pope are his daughter, Julie (Leroy)
Osborn of Atlanta; six grandchildren: Keith Craig,
Mark Craig, Jim Craig, Libby Robison, Daniel Osborn
and Kristopher Osborn; 19 great-grandchildren and 10
great-great-grandchildren.
Keith was preceded in death by his wife, Edith, on
March 23, 2012. He was also preceded in death by one
daughter, Donna Craig; one granddaughter, Barbara
Craig; one great-grandson, Jared Osborn; and three
brothers.
Alfred Keith Pope was born October 10, 1913, in
Raymond, Ill., the son of Joseph and Nellie
Heberling Pope. He married Edith Wilcoxson on March
2, 1937. They were married for 75 years.

Keith was a member the Atlanta Christian Church
where he had served as a Deacon and was a board
member of the Lincoln Logan Farmers Mutual Insurance
Company. He was a member of the Logan County Farm
Bureau and had served on the Atlanta Community
District Unit 20 School Board. Keith retired from
farming, a profession he enjoyed his whole life.
Memorials may be made to Atlanta Christian Church,
Atlanta Rescue Squad or the Christian Village
Nursing Home.
Final arrangements are entrusted with Quiram-Peasley
Funeral Home of Atlanta.
