Calvin Franklin McCabe, 95, of Lincoln, died Tuesday, July 2, 2013,
at 9:45 a.m. at Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital.

LINCOLN-Calvin Franklin McCabe, 95 of Lincoln, IL
died at 9:45 a.m. on July 2, 2013 at Abraham Lincoln
Memorial Hospital, Lincoln.
Calvin was born on August 25, 1917 in Lincoln, IL
the son of Finess and Frieda Bourchardt McCabe. He
married Florence Kathryn Marsh on June 1, 1940 in
Lincoln, IL. She preceded him in death March 29,
2005.
Calvin is survived by one son: Rick (Brenda) McCabe
of Lincoln; one grandson: Michael (Sarah) McCabe of
Effingham, IL; two great grandsons: Jordan and
Zachary McCabe and one great granddaughter: Jordan
Shaffer. He was the last of his immediate family. He
was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and
brother: Bureal McCabe.

Calvin retired in 1979 after 23 years at the Lincoln
Pittsburg Plate Glass Industries in the shipping
department. He served in the U.S. Navy during WW II;
was a member of the American Legion Post #263;
Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #1756; American Flint
Glass workers Local #1015; was Alderman for City of
Lincoln for eight years; very active in Cub Scouts
and coached Little League Baseball for five years.
Services for Calvin will be Saturday, July 6, 2013
at 10:30 a.m. at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral
Home, Lincoln with Rev. Tom Kamprath
officiating. Burial will be in Zion Cemetery with
full military rites accorded by American Legion Post
#263 of Lincoln. Visitation will be Friday from
4:00-7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials may be
given to Immanuel Lutheran Church or Humane Society
of Logan County.
