"Red, White and Blue" runs July 4-14, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. every
day. The show features work by Springfield Q.U.I.L.T.S., or Quilters
United in Learning, Teaching and Self-Improvement.The quilts
present a wide array of historic and contemporary designs
illustrating the patriotic theme.
One housed in the Senate chamber is a hand-quilted eagle design
based on a historic pattern in the collection of the Daughters of
the American Revolution. The eagle, surrounded by stars on a field
of red and blue, was prepared for the Old State Capitol's Ladies'
Soldiers' Aid Society exhibit.
