Mary Rose Ann Sampson, 72, of Lincoln, died Sunday, July 7, 2013, at
Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital.

Mary Rose Ann Sampson, 72, of Lincoln, passed away
Sunday, July 7, 2013 at Abraham Lincoln Memorial
Hospital.
Memorial services will be Thursday, July 11, 2013 at
6:00 PM at Holland Barry & Bennett Funeral Home
in Lincoln. Visitation will be from 5:00 PM
until the time of the service. There will be no
burial. Mary's wish was to be cremated.
Mary was born June 28, 1941 in Lincoln, IL., the
daughter of Sweeter C. and Inez Pauline (Littrell)
Wiggers. She married Lawrence "Larry" Sampson on
July 28, 1961 in Atlanta, IL.
Surviving are: her husband Larry Sampson of Lincoln,
IL., children: Valerie (Gary) Sanborn of Lincoln,
IL., Carol (David) McEvoy of Athens, IL., and Robin
(Denise) Sampson and their three children of
Cleveland, TN., grandchildren: Carson Nichols, Brock
and Blake McEvoy, great grandchildren Conner and
Emma Nichols, and sister Cathie (Ron) Nichols of
Pleasant Shade, TN.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her
sister Judy Bartlett.
Mary was a member of the Eagles Ladies Auxiliary,
she was an accomplished seamstress and baker. At one
time she sold Celebrity Jewelry. She loved to read,
work crossword puzzles and word find and loved to go
to the river boat and gamble. She was employed at
H&R Block in Lincoln for many years.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to
the charity of the donor's choice and will be
accepted at the funeral home.
